Green Beans Almondine

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beans
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 cloves garlic grated
  • 1 piece ginger grated
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/8 cup sesame seeds
  • red chili flakes
  • pine nuts optional
  • chopped almonds optional
  • Salt

Instructions

  • Toast the sesame seeds and grind them coarsely.
  • String the beans and wash them. Steam them for 3-5 minutes only, making sure they are tender yet crisp.
  • Heat oil, fry the chopped almonds or the pine nuts. Add garlic, ginger and green beans. Cook for a minute or two. Do not overcook as the beans could get soggy.
  • Add soy sauce, chili flakes & sesame seeds. Add salt to taste. Enjoy!
