- 1 cup coarsely crushed walnuts (1 cup = 8 oz)
- 1 cup milk powder
- 1/2 cup sugar (or slightly lesser)
- 3-4 oz. milk
- 2 tbsp. ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/2 tsp. crushed cardamom powder
- 1 tbspn almonds (slivered) optional
- 1 tbspn pistachio (slivered) optional
Combine all the ingredients gently to form a crumbly, moist mixture which is neither hard nor soft. Adjust the amount of milk accordingly.
Cook the mixture in the microwave for 3 minutes. Microwaves vary in power, so you may need to leave it in for another minute.
Take the mixture out of the microwave, add the cardamom powder to it. Mix well and return it to the microwave for another 30 seconds.
Transfer the contents to a plate greased with a thin layer of ghee. Top off the mixture with slivers of almonds and pistachio. Gently press the mixture into a square/rectangle shape, using the flat bottom of a tiny bowl. Cut immediately into squares.
